2026 CANINE HEALTH CLINICS 

 Presented by Detroit and Oakland County Kennel Clubs during the Motor City Winter Dog Classic show at Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi, MI on February 5-8, 2026.  See specific clinic information below for dates and times.

This event offers on‑site cardiac, eye, and thyroid screenings conducted by board‑certified specialists, along with comprehensive reproductive services such as semen collection, freezing, analysis, and microchipping. Thyroid screenings require an appointment, while all other clinics operate on a first‑come, first‑served basis with clear service requirements and convenient payment options.

Cardiac Clinic

  • Basic Cardiac Exam – $60

  • Advanced Cardiac Exam – $300​

    • Forms provided at the show.

    • Breeders may bring preprinted labels

      • 3 per dog for dog info:

        • Dog’s registered name, call name, DOB, breed, gender, registration number

        • Dam & sire registration numbers

        • Microchip/tattoo 

      • 3 per dog for owner info:

        • Owner name, co‑owner, address, phone, email​

Eye Clinic

💵 Payment: Cash or check (payable to Michigan State University)

🥼 Veterinarian: Dr. András M. Komáromy, DVM, PhD, DACVO, DECVO, FARVO (MSU)

  • $40 per eye exam

  • Allow time for pupil dilation

  • Paperwork available day-of or via OFA website

  • First come, first served

  • No advance appointments

Schultz Veterinary Clinic –

Semen Collection & Freezing

  • First come, first served. No Appointments.

  • Semen Collection + Freeze – $550/dog

    •  Includes storage through December 2026 •

    • Annual renewal: $180/dog

  • Semen Collection/Analysis (no freeze) – $315/dog

  • Microchipping – $50/dog

  • Brucella Testing – $65/dog

Requirements for Frozen Semen

  • Current rabies vaccination (certificate required)

  • Negative brucellosis test within 6 months •

  • Outside results accepted 

  • Onsite testing available

  • Copy of AKC registration

  • AKC DNA profile 

  • DNA kits available onsite
